We tailor each lesson to the student's interests. Although sheet music is utilized, it is used primarily as a tool to understand the theory behind the music rather than a requirement for making the music.
We are always trying to zoom out to the big picture for every piece of music we explore. Many lessons can be garnered from one song, and with every song a student learns, the next song becomes easier to understand.

Our studio focuses on helping students that are ages 12 and up. We will make exceptions in certain cases, but we find this is the right age range to begin with our type of teaching.
The Importance of Interest
The Importance of Interest
We firmly believe that when someone is fascinated with something, this innate interest will cause them to learn much more rapidly than someone who is uninterested. This may seem obvious, but this simple truth tends to be ignored in more conventional teaching settings. At around the age of 12, our interests begin becoming more clear and focused, and this tends to lead to much more productive lessons with much faster results.
